Tembo Safari Lodges

Tembo Safari Lodge is located in Katunguru, within Queen Elizabeth National Park, just 300 metres from the Kazinga Channel — one of the park's most visited wildlife corridors. Its position makes it the most popular budget accommodation inside the park. The lodge has 10 spacious rooms built in African traditional style with grass-thatched roofs and local wood. Rooms include mosquito nets, hot and cold showers, flushing toilets, free bottled water, free toiletries, and balconies with panoramic views of the Kazinga Channel. Room types include standard single rooms, double and twin rooms, and a Tembo Cottage with two self-contained rooms, wooden varnished floors, large working desks, and balconies overlooking the channel. The lodge organises activities including game drives, Kazinga Channel boat cruises, fishing, biking tours, and nature-guided walks. The onsite restaurant serves local and continental dishes, and the bar is stocked with wines, spirits, beer, and soft drinks.

FAQs

  • Uganda is a year-round destination, but the dry seasons (June–September and December–February) are ideal for trekking, game drives and birding. Wet seasons bring lush landscapes and lower lodge rates.

Uganda completely surprised us. One day we were trekking through misty forest searching for gorillas, the next we were rafting the Nile. Everything felt incredibly well planned without losing the sense of adventure. The landscapes kept shifting like scenes in a film, each one more breathtaking than the last.
