The Founder's Story
THE FOUNDER'S STORY

Ever landed somewhere thinking, “Yeah, this is just another trip”?
That was me with Uganda.
I came for work. Meetings, emails, a hotel somewhere in between. Nothing extraordinary. Just another country on the list.
I’ve travelled to over 90 countries, so I thought I already knew what “special” looked like. I’d seen the famous landmarks, the breathtaking views, the destinations people spend their whole lives dreaming about.
But Uganda felt nothing like the other 90.
People smiled like they genuinely meant it. Strangers treated me like I belonged there somehow. Life felt slower, warmer, and more human.
And for the first time in a long time, I slowed down enough to really notice life again.
Then I met Grace.
She was the real estate agent helping me find a place to stay. What started as business slowly became something deeper.
Somewhere along the way, a British traveller fell in love with Uganda… and with Grace, a Ugandan woman — and through her, Uganda stopped being a place I was simply visiting.
The more I experienced the country, the more one thing stayed on my mind:
Uganda is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, but it doesn’t always get to tell its story properly.
Most people only see fragments, headlines, and surface-level impressions.
But there is so much more here.
So much beauty, warmth, culture, and humanity that the world rarely gets to see.
And I knew I wanted to help change that.
That’s how Everything Uganda was born.
Not just as a travel company, but as a way to help people experience the real Uganda, not just pass through it.
To travel here in a way that feels seamless, personal, and deeply connected to the country itself.
To show people the Uganda I fell in love with.
Later, that journey inspired me to write Uncovering Uganda; a personal story about the country that changed the way I see life, connection, and home.
Because Uganda isn’t just a place you visit. It’s a place you feel.
After 92 countries, I never thought one place could still catch me completely off guard.
But Uganda did. And it still does.
If you’d like to understand the journey more deeply, explore Uncovering Uganda below.
